What Lake Nona is, briefly
OrientationLake Nona is a master-planned community in southeast Orlando, in Orange County, Florida — built around its namesake lake and organized into a handful of distinct neighborhoods, each with its own character. It's known regionally for two things in particular: a concentration of medical and research institutions often referred to as Lake Nona's "Medical City," and a reputation as one of the more tech-forward, "smart city"-minded communities in Central Florida, with the USTA National Campus, KPMG's Lakehouse training and conference center, and ongoing experiments with autonomous transit among its more visible landmarks.
Day to day, it reads less like a corporate campus and more like a place people actually live — families out on the trail network in the evening, a Saturday crowd at Boxi Park, kids' sports at the community fields, a lake you can see from more places than you'd expect.
